Gorgeous Day!

Today was gorgeous! We, THE OLD GUY and I started hiking at 6:45. It was a cool morning. I had cold hands and a cold nose for a while. We were so grateful for the weather. The last few days it has been really hot and I haven’t wanted to eat much.

The sights were green and beautiful. While the trail wasn’t easy it wasn’t difficult either. We had many good views today.

I was much hungrier today than I have been in the past few days. I think it is because of the heat and maybe a little dehydration. Today I was hungry and tried to eat more to get my weight back up. It dropped to 112.2.

I was thinking about a song today and couldn’t remember the words so I ask THE OLD GUY and he knew them:

I’m Popeye the sailor man.

I live in a garbage can.

I only swim with bowlegged woman.

I’m Popeye the sailor man.

There is a lot of time out here for many thoughts.

  1. Just in case you really wanted the Popeye lyrics:

I’m Popeye the sailor man. I’m Popeye the sailor man. I’m strong to the finich, cause I eats me spinach. I’m Popeye the sailor man.

Force yourself to eat regularly, every 1-2 hours. I have been where you are: malnourished, sore feet and tired. You have to fight it or you will get yourself in trouble. If you want to finish this, you have to take care of yourself. Eat double what you think you need because you really do need it!

  2. Hoping you can keep your weight up. When I started losing, is when it started to get really bad for me. I understand, though…I had days I was so tired, all I could do was eat a tortilla with butter and crash. Still praying for you. You are doing really well! Hang in there.
